THE HAWTHORNE COMMUNITY

The Hawthorne Community, completed in 1994 on 200 acres in Overland Park, Kansas, is an imaginative collection of residential and commercial neighborhoods, master planned to provide a variety of housing options for its residents plus the award winning specialty shopping district Hawthorne Plaza.

Patterned after the well-known Scottsdale Ranch in Phoenix, Arizona, Hawthorne includes single family homes, detached and attached villas, apartments, and senior care.  Connecting the various neighborhoods are wide, meandering sidewalks and trails, a community park and an attractive lake, which also provides important drainage control for the area
